Expanding access to high-quality workforce training and reaching more learners each year, community-based workforce programs are turning potential into real-world career success. Through hands-on programs aligned with industry needs, NCUS TEC is preparing learners for employment in high-demand fields while expanding access to education in urban and underserved communities.

The organization’s work recently earned national recognition, receiving the 2025 SB100 Best of Small Business Award, presented by Small Business Expo. The honor reflects NCUS TEC’s impact across workforce development, employer partnerships, and job placement outcomes.

“We are proud to open doors to untapped new-collar careers by providing individuals with the training, credentials, and hands-on experience needed to succeed in high-demand industries,” said Perry Gregory, President of NCUS TEC. “Receiving the 2025 SB100 Best of Small Business Award reflects our commitment to expanding access, building partnerships, and creating pathways to meaningful economic opportunity.”

NCUS TEC offers training programs in manufacturing, fiber optics, construction, healthcare, and information technology. In 2025, the organization served more than 10,000 individuals through workforce training and education initiatives, delivering programs designed to meet labor market demand while creating clear pathways to employment and advancement.

More than 80 percent of program participants secure employment after completing training, with average wages ranging from $25 to $35 per hour. In advanced manufacturing alone, hundreds of individuals have been trained in electrical systems, robotics, and mechanical technologies. “This was my first time getting certified in something,” said RayNisha Addison, a program graduate. “I was extremely proud of myself by the time graduation came. NCUS TEC helped me see what was possible for my future.”

Addison was later recognized by state leadership for completing the program.

Through its technology pathway, NCUS TEC has also provided digital skills training to more than 400 individuals, including senior citizens, helping expand digital access and workforce readiness.

Industry partners point to leadership and community connection as key strengths.

“NCUS TEC is a premier partner because they understand how to do workforce development in a place-based way,” said Utaukwa Allen, Google’s Global Head of Economic and Community Development. “They deliver strong training and prepare people for sustainable wage work immediately after completion.”

Looking ahead, NCUS TEC remains focused on strategic growth, innovation, and ensuring education leads to opportunity, stability, and long-term success.
